Actress Devadarshini is one of the very few actresses who are able to manage their big screen as well as small-screen careers very well. Devadarshini, married to Chetan, has been starring in many tele-serials and cookery shows and has been anchoring all kinds of programmes on various Tamil television channels.
She has also played Vivek’s pair in a few films and after playing Dhanush’s sister in the hit film ‘Padikkadhavan’, Devadarshini now play Aishwarya Rai’s elder sister in superstar Rajni’s upcoming film ‘Endhiran: The Robot’. She has a natural flair for comedy, as witnessed in many films in the past.
The slimly-built lanky actress is extremely delighted to have been starring in the film in which superstar Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai had been her co-stars. “Though mine is a small role in the overall context of the film, I’m sure it would be remembered a lot by the movie-goers,” says Devadarshini.
She is obviously over-awed by Ash’s presence in the sets. “Even now, the way Ash speaks, the way she walks, etc. make her worthy of the title ‘Miss World’ she won years back. I’m extremely honoured and happy to have acted along side her in the film.
“Likewise, I’m very fortunate to have acted with Rajni Sir. When I first got the call from Shankar’s office, I immediately agreed to the offer; for a few moments, I just couldn’t believer my ears,” gushes Devadarshini, happiness writ large on her face.
“My ambition is to become a full-fledged comedian in Tamil films. I’m not able to achieve my goal as I am very keen to do only decent comedies. My role in the upcoming film ‘Kanchana’, where I get an opportunity to act with veteran Kovai Sarala, is quite an interesting one,” says Devadarshini.
