This moment of paradise will be an ever-cherishing moment in the history of Vikram as the actor says that he cannot forget it all throughout his life.
Soon on his return from 37th Venice International Film Festival, the actor has been persistently sharing his wonderful experience. Says Vikram: ‘Soon after the screening of ‘Raavanan’, the entire auditorium was studded with applause. We thought it was a usual gesture of audiences as they give away a standing ovation for 10-15 seconds. But we were awestruck witnessing the non-stop applause for 5 long minutes. Everyone started cheering me up by calling ‘Veera’ and mimicking Bak Bak…Bak.”
Adding more, Vikram said, “There were around 600-700 audiences from Italy and other foreign countries and hardly we could find 4-5 Indians. We were astounded to see that our film has been well-recognized across a different continent filled with people, different culture and taste.”
The actor ardently thanks Manirathnam for taking him across the boundaries and gaining him world-wide recognitions.
Actor Vikram’s next film titled ‘Vedi’ was to be directed first by director Selvaraghavan. Then, Boopathy Pandian stepped in and Telugu hottie Ileana was signed up as the heroine opposite Vikram. Later, Boopathy Pandian also opted out of the film (wonder what could have been the reason).
‘Madarasapattinam’ fame Vijay, who has earlier made films like ‘Kreedom’ and ‘Poi Solla Porom’, is the latest director to have taken up the cudgels to direct the Vikram starrer. When Ileana was contacted by the director, he and the Unit were in for a shock.
Telugu hottie Ilena, who debuted as an actress in the Tamil film ‘Kedi’ a few years back, reportedly told him that the ‘advance’ amount paid to her has ‘compensated’ for the ‘waiting time’ of 3-4 months ever since she was signed up as Vikram’s heroine.
Anyway, the Unit and director Vijay have reportedly decided to continue with Ileana as the heroine by paying her more than what was originally planned to be given to her.
