It’s almost official now! Kollywood’s master film-maker S. Shankar’s forthcoming science fiction film Enthiran (Robot in Hindi and Telugu), starring superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles, will grace theatres on September 24, 2010.
Enthiran will release in almost 3000 screens worldwide, the highest ever for a Tamil film. With a budget of Rs. 200 crores, Enthiran is the costliest Tamil film ever made. The film will be released in over 300 screens outside India, which makes Enthiran the largest worldwide release after Spiderman.
Now the latest buzz is that the film will grace as many as 30 screens in Chennai alone.
Who was there at the Endhiran trailer launch
The trailer of Endhiran was released at the Sathyam Cinemas today (September 11th, 2010) amidst much expectations. It was released jointly by the film’s producer Kalanidhi Maran, actor Rajnikanth and director Shankar.
Those who made it to this event were the Nadigar Sangam president Sarath Kumar, sound engineer Rasool Pokutty, directors Bhagyaraj, Dharani, K S Ravikumar, Parthiban, Hari, Lingusamy, Sundar C, Cheran, actors Arya, Vivek, Lawrence, Karan, Arun Vijay, Sibiraj, Nakulan, Krishna, Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan, FEFSI chief VC Guhanathan, Film Distributors Association president Kalaipuli G Sekaran, Theatre owners Abirami Ramanthan, and DMK functionary and producer Anbhazhagan.
Rajnikanth’s wife Latha, daughters Aishwarya Dhanush, Soundarya Ashwin, son-in-laws Ashwin and Dhanush, director Kiccha, producer TG Thyagarajan, Editor Mohan, Amma Creations Siva, Ayyappan, Sivasri Srinivasan, cinematographer Rathnavelu and art director Sabu Cyril were also present.
