Upcoming Telugu actress Saira banu was arrested last week from an apartment building in Hyderabad’s posh locality by the local police who acted on a tip-off that ‘flesh trade’ was going on in that particular premises. Saira banu allegedly acted as the ‘link’ between many Tamil and Telugu film stars in supplying them the banned drug cocaine.
Details of calls made to and received by her cellphone revealed that she had the mobile numbers of almost all the leading actresses in Telugu. Telugu actresses Sairabanu and Jyothi were recently arrested when they were allegedly involved in the ‘flesh trade’ in Hyderabad recently. The police claimed that the duo was apprehended while they were on the look out of drug peddlers.
Both Saira banu and Jyothi are upcoming actresses in Tollywood and the police are obviously under lot of pressure from many politicians not to ‘harm’ the careers of the duo. The Police, however, didn’t relent to the pressure and went ahead to register cases against the duo. They were subsequently produced at the Court also.
Not long ago, Bharat Raj and Raghu Babu, brothers of Telugu star Ravi Teja were arrested while taking the banned drugs from a Nigerian national in Hyderabad. Police investigations have revealed that Bharat was on very ‘close’ terms with Saira banu and that he even ‘lived together’ with her in the same house without getting married to her.
The police then suspected that Saira banu could have been involved in the drug smuggling and selling business. Investigations are on to find out as to whom did Sara banu supply the drugs and if any political bigwig was one of them.
