Actor Ajith has finally announced the launch of his upcoming film ‘Mangatha’, which would be directed by Venkatprabhu, son of composer-singer-cum-filmmaker Gangei Amaren. Ajith, whose last film was the Saran-directed ‘Asal’, had been keeping his fans on tenterhooks before announcing the launch of his landmark 50th film ‘Mangatha’ a fortnight back.
The film is being directed by Venkat prabhu, who has made successful films like ‘Chennai 600 028’, ‘Saroja’ and ‘Goa’. Till now, superstar Rajni’s ‘Enthiran: The Robot’ has been on top in the print and television media in giving some new info on the making and the release of the film, scheduled to be released in the third/fourth week of September,
After ‘Robot’, comes ‘Mangatha’ in providing fodder to the press. Each day, one gets to know something about the film. On the day the film was launched, Venkatprabhu shot a quick trailer of the film which is presently on view in many theatres in the city and elsewhere. The latest on the ‘Mangatha’ front is that Venkatprabhu is said to be planning to make the film in Telugu as well.
This would be Venkat prabhu’s debut film in Telugu. When it comes to casting the hero in Telugu, Venkatprabhu has ‘borrowed’ Maniratnam’s idea when the latter swapped Vikram for villain’s role in the Hindi version of ‘Raavanan’. Venkatprabhu is planning to cast Telugu superstar Nagarjuna as the hero in the Telugu version. Readers are aware that Nagarjuna plays a pivotal role in the Tamil version of ‘Mangatha’.
Likewise, ‘Thala’ would be playing the same ‘significant’ role in Telugu, which is played in Tamil version by Nagarjuna. Simply saying, Ajith and Nagarjuna would be swapping their places. Incidentally, this would also the debut in Telugu for Ajith, who has been around in Kollywood for more than one-and-a-half decades.
Let’s wish him success in advance!
