Tomorrow is big day for Tamil cinema. Two great functions, one at Chennai and the other at Thiruvananthapuram, will stay in the history of Kollywood forever.
The Chennai function is to launch a mega housing project for the Tamil film fraternity. To be presided over by Chief Minister M Karuananidhi, the event will be attended by Rajinkanth, Venkatesh, Mammotty and Jithendra.
And the Thiruvananthapuram is the Kerala government’s annual State level Onam Celebrations. This year’s cultural festival will see the honouring of Kamal Haasan, who is celebrating his 50th year in the film industry.
The State government had decided to honour this versatile artist who has drawn both critical and popular acclaim for himself as an actor, director, script writer, dancer and producer during the inaugural ceremony of this year’s Onam festival. He will he honoured by Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan in the presence of dignataries from various fields.
