Actor-director K. Bhagyaraj, who made ‘Sidhu Plus Two-First Attempt’ starring his son Shanthanu in the lead, couldn’t release the film though the film had been completed more than two months back. The film was meant to give a thrust to the career of Shanthanu, who has only had ‘Chakkarakatti’ to his credit as on date.
One now hears that after a prolonged compromise formula worked out between the financier and the director, the film is finally going to see the light of the day. Bhagyaraj, who last made ‘Parijatham’ starring his daughter and Prithviraj in the lead, has made ‘Sidhu Plus Two’ in order to prop up the career of his son.
Moser baer, the CD manufacturer, reportedly ‘bought’ the film from Bhagyaraj at a huge cost after talks emanated that the film had come out ‘really well’. As per original plan, the film should have released in January this year. Moser baer then did a volte-face saying that KB had ‘duped’ them by showing a huge cost of production and went to the Producers’ Council asking them to help it to ‘return’ the film to KB.
Successful mediation by the office-bearers of the Producers’ Council has now resulted in Moser baer agreeing to release the film on its own. In all likelihood, the film might be released on 3rd September.
