Media One Global, which has produced the Arya-Shriya Saran starrer ‘Chikkubukku’, has ‘accused’ its hero Arya of misusing the name of Udhayanidhi, son of the deputy chief minister Stalin, in order to serve his own interest.
The shooting of ‘Chikkubukku’ is over and the post-production work including re-recording and dubbing are said to be in progress. In the meantime, the producer has accused Arya of ‘purposely’ delaying the release of the film by absenting himself from the dubbing work for 5 days for no apparent reason and added that he had incurred losses by hiring the dubbing theatre and finding Arya absent in coming over and dubbing for his role in the film.
The producer has actually lodged a formal complaint with the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) against Arya and accused him of ‘scuttling’ the process of release of the film. Unconfirmed reports say that since Arya’s other film ‘Baas Engira Baskaran’ has been taken up for distribution by Udhayanidhi’s Red Giant Movies, the actor apparently wants ‘BEB’ to release first ahead of ‘Chikkubukku’.
The producer has said that Arya had told him that he had been told by Udhayanidhi that he should complete BEB first before involving himself in any other project(s). When we checked Arya’s version through the Council, it was found that Arya was only ‘using’ Udhayanidhi’s name to serve his own interest, the producer added.
Arya hasn’t attended any promotional activity till date and has left us in the lurch. “I have been in the industry for a long time and doesn’t need an actor’s permission or approval in releasing a film of mine. Arya is misusing the name of grandson of our chief minister. This should be condemned by all concerned. Director Manigandan treated Arya more like a friend and less like an actor and this is certainly not the way of repaying by Arya,”concludes the complaint.
