‘Chiyaan’ Vikram acted in both the Tamil and Hindi versions of “Raavanan” and “Raavan” made by Mani Ratnam. While he played the protagonist Veera in Tamil, he played the anti-hero of S.P. Dev Pratap Singh in the Hindi version.
In his first Hindi film, Vikram had tried hard and dubbed for his character in his own voice. Bollywood producers and directors have reportedly expressed their amazement at the talent of Vikram, who could play villain and hero with equal ease in the same story. Vikram is said to be flooded with offers to act in Hindi films.
Neeraj Pandey, who made ‘A Wednesday’ three years ago starring Nasruddin Shah (the film was made in Tamil as ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’ by Kamal Haasan), appears to have been mightily impressed by Vikram’s portrayals in both the Tamil and Hindi versions. Pandey, who was in Chennai recently, made it a point to meet Vikram. He appreciated the actor’s performances and also extended to him an invitation to star in his next Hindi film in title role.
Vikram, who has repeatedly told the media and his fans in many of his previous interviews that he never wanted to go out of Kollywood, is said to have assured Pandey that he would consider his request and would soon be giving him a reply.
