The Vikram, Shriya starrer Kanthasamy had a grand celebration at the Nadigar Sangam to mark 100 days of the film. The event was attended by Vikram, Shriya, Susi Ganesan, Kalaipuli Thanu, Bhagyaraj, Shanthnoo, YG Mahendra and others.
The highlight was the felicitations of the artistes by the people from the villages that have been adopted by the film unit. The village members came from far and wide and even received a donation for various social causes in the villages.
Susi has even got donations from New York for adopting some of the villages. Kalaipuli Thanu narrated the incidents leading to the making of the film and was happy that its success had reached epic proportions this way.
The effort of the filmmakers shows how social causes can be taken up in earnest by film makers whose reach is far and wide thanks to this powerful medium.
