Anuya debuted as heroine in the film ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’ opposite Jeeva. The film, despite a not-so-thrilling storyline, had a decent run at the box-office. Anuya followed it up with her cop-act in ‘Madurai Sambavam’ opposite choreographer-turned-hero Harikumar. Released last week, the film is said to be doing average business.
Despite delivering back-to-back successes in Kollywood, Anuya is quite upset at the fact that none of the producers/directors seem to be favouring her. She was so disappointed that she has in fact flown back to her native Mumbai and plans to come back to Chennai if and only if she is offered any new Tamil film. She has reason to feel sad as even her glamourous ‘bedroom sequence’ in ‘Madurai Sambavam’ hasn’t fetched her any other offers.
Anuya is hoping that one of the frontline heroes would recommend her name to his film, putting her in the big league. “I know very well that more than the directors, it’s the heroes who call the shots in Tamil films by selecting the heroines. Still, I don’t intend going around asking for an offer,” says Anuya, obviously hiding her disappointment.
In case she doesn’t manage to find any more offers, she’d be seeking a nine-to-five job as she is a qualified professional as well. Can’t understand what her aim is!
