Critically acclaimed feature director Ameer who is known for his maven through Ram and Paruthiveeran is to direct his mega venture titled Kannabiran.
Paruthiveeran was the debut film of actor Surya’s brother Karthi. The film was successful on all counts both commercially and otherwise. It also made actress Priyamani a national award winner. Karthi is currently a busy star in Kollywood.
Director Ameer after completing film Yogi in which he is the hero which has Madhumitha as heroine and directed by Subramanian Shiva of Thiruda Thirudi and Pori fame. Yogi is a movie having high expectation.
Jayam Ravi is confirmed to be doing the title role Kannabiraan in the direction of Ameer. Jayam Ravi is extremely happy to have the opportunity to work with Ameer who soared into new skies with critically-acclaimed Paruthiveeran. Madhumitha is the heroine.
Jayam Ravi has touched new high ever since Santosh Subramanian, which was a remake of Bommarillu in Telugu.

Grapevine is Ameer is getting Rs. 4 crore as his salary for this film. It is the second highest salary in the industry only next to director Shankar.
