Sumedha Karmahe, the most beautiful “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” participant is all set to make it big. Her singing talent is far better than other female participants in the show. Sumedha has been creating vibes with her singing and great looks and to make it even better she has already been featured in songs recorded by “Bappi Lahiri” for upcoming film.So more of her coming your way in the albums.
Sumedha Karmahe is from Rajnandgaon – Chattisgarh and now belongs to the “Josh Gharana” lead by Bappi Lahiri. Sumedha’s one of the best performance at the show is where she sang “Javani Jaan-e-Mann” where she looked phenominal in the black dress. Early years
Although Sumedha is settled in to Chhattisgarh her parents come from Bihar.Karmahe attended Weidner Memorial High School. She made her mark as a melodious voice during SaReGaMaPa Challenge 2007. Apparently she was offered by Mahesh Bhatt to sing in Jannat. However, Mahesh never gave her the song and rather offered it to other new playback singers.
She re-appeared in Saregamapa 2008 to sing a duet with Soumen Nandi ‘Tu Meri Dost Hai’. All judges agreed she had the sweetest voice, Aadesh (One of the main Judges) took a swipe at Mahesh Bhatt for offering her the Playback role and not fulfilling the Promise.
Fame
Sumedha has appeared with Junaid Sheikh (fellow contestant SRGMP 2006) in Zee TV’s Indian Drama Series ‘Banoo Teri Dulhann’ where both of them sang ‘Aaj ki Raat’. She also sang with Raja Hasan runner-up in SRGMP 2006 in another Zee TV Drama ‘Teen Bahuraniyan’. Her initial Solo singing break was in Drama series ‘Ranbir Rano’ singing ‘Aao na’.
Sumedha also participated in ‘Ek Se Badhkar Ek – Jalwe Sitaron Ke’, A reality show that has a pairing of one singer and one dancer who try to reach and win the Finals – format very similar to saregamapa, where they get eliminated by viewer votes and points by Judges. Sumedha’s partner was Abhishek Awasthi both got voted off in Week 6, Abhishek got re-entered via wild card entry.
She also captained Madhya Pradesh in Saregamapa mega challenge 2009.
Sumedha’s First break as a playback singer in Bollywood appears in a film titled ‘Tahaan’ where she sings the song ‘Rona Dona Kya’, a sweet melodious tune – translated into English means ‘Why Cry’.
Her recent release was the song called ‘Tere Bin’ from the movie ‘Teree Sang’. This song was a duet with Raja Hassan. Music Director is Bappi Lahiri.
