Samvrutha Sunil (born October 31, 1986), commonly known as Samvritha, is an Indian film actress who has starred in over 30 Malayalam films. She made her debut through the film Rasikan (2004) directed by Lal Jose. She has also appeared in Telugu and Tamil films. Her well known performances include films such as Arabikkatha (2007), Chocolate (2007), Thirakkatha (2008), Neelathamara (2009), Cocktail (2010), Manikyakkallu(2011), Swapna Sanchari (2011), and Diamond Necklace (2012). She established herself as one of the leading actresses in Malayalam cinema.
Personal life
Samvrutha was born in Kannur, in northern Kerala on October 31, 1986. She did her schooling at St. Teresas A.I.G.H.S. school in Kannur. She has been enagaged to marry Akhil, a Malayali engineer settled in California

Samvrutha’s entry into the film industry happened with Rasikan (2004) with Dileep in the lead. The film was not a significant success but she was noted.she did well on the film.[citation needed] After Rasikan, she played characterless movies likeNerariyan CBI (2005) and Chandrolsavam (2005). It was her character Sherly in Lal Jose’s Achanurangatha Veedu (2005) which became an eye opener for her. She became more popular in the melodious song sequence “Pachappanamthathe… ” from the movie Nottam (2006), which had a catchy beat and was picturised well. Her characters in Moonamathoral (2006), Pothan Vava (2006) and Vaasthavam (2006) were memorable. Her latest releases, Hallo (2007), Arabikkatha (2007), Chocolate (2007), Minnaminnikoottam (2008), and Thirakkatha (2008), have been super hits. She appeared in a guest role in Priyanandanan’s Pulijanmam (2006) and Rafi Mecartin’s Hallo (2007).
After her Tamil debut Uyir, where she played the heroine opposite Srikanth. Her debut Telugu movie was Evadithe Nakenti (2007), a remake of Malayalayam hit Lion. Her hobbies include watching movies, riding her motorcycle. Her first film was to be titled Hello and directed by Ranjith had planned to do a film with the same title, but it got shelved. She was also considered for the movie Nandanam to play Balamani’s character, but the shooting was planned during her board examination. So her parents decided against her acting in that film. Starting with Rasikan, Samvritha went on to do three films with director Lal Jose, to whom she fondly refers as her mentor. Diamond necklace is her latest hit in which she acted along withFahadh Faasil,directed by Lal Jose.She also appeared in Mallu Singh co-starring Unni Mukundan.

Could you please tell us something about your family and schooling?
Father: Sunil into hotel business and my mother Sadhana, house wife. I have a sister Sangutha, +2 student and grandmother.
How come you entered into this fascinating world of cinema? Your first break?
During my college days at St.Teresas, Lal uncle and Rajeev uncle called me for a screening test at Rasikan’s shooting location, where I got selected and my career started of from there..
As a new comer what is your opinion about the latest trend in cinema?
Like Tamil and Hindi film industry, Malayalam cinema should also promote new comers.
Your intimate friend in cine field?
Kavya, Bhavana, Gopika and…(the list goes on …seems all the girls in this field are friends )
Secret of your beautiful silky hair?
Nothing in particular …will keep the hair neat and tidy.
Which is the favorite role you have played so far?
I really love the role in Achanuranagatha Veedu.
Do you do your homework before getting into a character?
Eg; the character in Achanurangatha veedu.
Nothing much…but in Achanurangatha veedu I just practiced the customs and prayers.
Any dream role?
Uh… roles that done by Manju chechy…
‘Nottam’ was a huge break for you. Could you please share the experience you had at the sets of ‘Nottam’.
I really enjoyed when people identified me as a “pachapanamthatha”
How do you react to gossips?
Gossips… I don’t care…
If you would have not ended up as an actress, what would have been your choice?
During my studies I didn’t aim for an engineer or doctor…but by God’s grace, now I am here …Its all because of the people who encourage me…I request the same support from all of you.
About marriage?
Hey man..I am too young to get hooked to someone…(laughs)
How did you evaluate yourself on the varied roles from a simple village girl in Rasikan to modern girl in Moonamathoral?
I got several offers which are very different from each other… Yes I am lucky to get that…
