Aravaan

Aravaan movie is set on Tamil Nadu backdrop of 18th century. After the success and critically appreciated film ‘Angadi Theru’, the director Vasanthabalan is starting up his next flick with Aadhi in the lead role.

Aravaan is produced by T Siva of Amma Creations. ‘Aravaan’ is a about man who had every quality of a man with all 32 ‘latchanngal’ in him. The launch function was attended by a host of heavy weights including Sivakumar, Director Shankar, Rama Narayanan, VC Guhanathan, DMK politician Trichy Siva, Writer Madan and others.

After the huge success of his ‘Angaadi Theru’ which also managed to win critical acclaim from the severest of critics for the way he had treated the subject, director Vasanthabalan has moved ahead and launched his next film titled ‘Aravaan’. The director, who gave us the unforgettable Bharath-Pasupathy starrer ‘Veyil’, is on the go again.

‘Aravaan’ would star Aadhi (of ‘Eeram’ fame) and Dhansika (of ‘Peraanmai’ and ‘Maanja Velu’ fame) in the lead, it is informed. Dhansika, who played one of the five heroines in ‘Peraanmai’ opposite ‘Jeyam’ Ravi and a solo heroine in ‘Maanja Velu’ opposite Arun Vijay, plays one of the two heroines in ‘Aravaan’.

Archana Kavi will be the newcomer who will be debuting as the other heroine in the film. Pasupathy, who gets into the skin of all the characters he plays in films, is slated to play a pivotal role in the film. If Vasanthabalan explored the lives of salesmen/saleswomen working in major stores/shops in ‘Angaadi Theru’, he would be showcasing the lives of people of the 18th century in ‘Aravaan’.

The Tamil culture followed so ardently those days, would be shown as it actually was. The story would be woven with romance and bravery in between, it is learnt. After launching music director G.V. Prakash Kumar in ‘Veyil’, Vasanthabalan is introducing popular playback singer Karthick (who would forget his ‘Anjala…’ number from Vaaranam Aayiram?) as music director in ‘Aravaan’.

The film would be a bilingual affair and will be shot simultaneously in both Tamil and Telugu at a huge cost. T. Siva of Amma Creations joins hands with Vasanthabalan as the producer of the film.
