Lightsmen Union Cancels Shooting of Tamil Films

Shooting of several films including TV serials have come to a standstill as South India Cine & TV Outdoor Technicians Union, Light mens are in strike.

Union is demanding a hike in their daily wages from Rs 225 to Rs 500, while the producers are willing to increase it by 50 percent and more to Rs 350.

It is a 125 % increase demand, Tamil Film Producers Council says it’s unreasonable.

Abhinav Bindra wins India’s first solo Olympic gold

Abhinav Bindra won India’s first ever individual Olympic gold medal on Monday with a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the men’s 10m air rifle.

Bindra had been fourth after qualifying but had a brilliant final round and even hit a near perfect 10.8 on his last shot to pull in front of Henri Hakkinen of Finland, who dropped to bronze with a poor final shot of 9.7.

Police solve Vadapalani Psycho killer mystery?

In a completely unexpected turn of events, the Chennai police have announced that the Vadapalani Psycho killings are linked to not one person but a gang of seven people. The police have arrested two persons, who allegedly admitted that they along with their gang members, had killed the people for money to buy drugs and liquor. (more…)
