Is Rajini Murugan Much Like Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam?
The video footage of the song Enna Ma Ippadi Panreengale Ma from the film Rajini Murugan, which was released as a single towards the end of last month, has been uploaded on YouTube and has garnered over one million views. In the press meet-cum-audio launch of the film, the lyrics of the sensational number echoed and Imman, the happy music director, shared that the other songs. The numbers, much like the viral single, are light and peppy that will be enjoyed by music lovers.
D. Imman is over the moon following the song’s success. Speaking at the audio launch of the film that was held recently, he said composing for the film had been an enjoyable experience and it almost felt like he was making music for a sequel to Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam (VVS), since both have the same light-hearted feel. “But we had to put in some hardwork and make the music refreshing. I think it worked out,” said D. Imman.
On the similarities, Rajini Murugan also has the same crew as that of VVS. Director Ponram and the hero Sivakarthikeyan, who were present at the launch, said that while the mood of the film may be similar, it had a different storyline.
“In this film, the hero wants to settle in life, as opposed to him being a happy-go-lucky guy in VVS, who did not want to go for a job at all,” said the director.
Sivakarthikeyan admitted that the same team meant that the audience would expect something similar to VVS, but it also meant 50 per cent promotion done.
“VVS was a success and the audience know that they are in for a laughter riot. It also meant that there was no need to break ice and we had started off with shooting a big scene, as opposed to small ones we usually start with,” shared Siva.
About the title of the film, which aroused curiosity, Ponram and Sivakarthikeyan said that the hero was a fan, but the name bore more significance than that. Voicing his views about his collaboration with Thirupathi Bros and producer Lingusamy who was recently involved in the Uttama Villain controversy, Sivakarthikeyan said, “We knew it was a successful script and hope that this film makes up for the loss the producer had incurred.”
