Arun Vijay challenges Thala 55 team to take up the ALS Ice Bucket challenge
Ever since actress Hansika brought the ALS ice bucket challenge to Kollywood, namma stars are on a spree challenging each other for the cause. The most recent actor to have undertaken the ice bucket challenge is actor Arun Vijay, who is playing the baddie in the Gautham Menon directorial Thala 55.
Arun, who just completed the challenge, tells Chennai Times, “I was nominated by my Vaa Deal co-star Karthika, for the ALS ice bucket challenge. I came to know of it and immediately proceeded to carry it out. We used about 15 litres of ice water and it was unimaginably cold.” Quiz Arun if he has made the donation yet, and he says, “Yes, I did make a contribution to the foundation too.”
Arun, in turn, has nominated actor Jayam Ravi, director Venkat Prabhu, music director Harris Jayaraj and his Thala 55 co-star Trisha along with the entire team of Thala 55 to take up the challenge. What remains to be seen however is if the team will accept Arun Vijay’s challenge.
The ALS ice bucket challenge, was started as a campaign to spread awareness about Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The challenge involved making a donation to the ALS foundation or dumping a bucket of ice water on one’s head. However, the ice bucket challenge, which has gone viral now, has seen celebrities do both as a gesture of goodwill and promoting awareness.
