Kareena Kapoor should have asked Saif

North Indians have always had a condescending attitude towards South Indians, and the Tamilians in particular.

Even today, serials and television shows continue to be made in Hindi where Hindi is spoken in a Tamil accent and thereby draw laughs from the audience.

Lovers of cinema still recall the movie, Padosan in which comedian Mehmood played the role of an Iyengar who speaks Hindi with a Tamil accent and his dialogues and the funny manner in which he utters them had the audience in splits.

Continuing this haughty behavior of the Hindi folks is none other than the successful but arrogant Kareena Kapoor.

When Kareena Kapoor recently gave a statement saying that she didn’t know who Tamil super star Suriya was, little did she know of the backlash that she would receive for her arrogant statement.

Fans were so incensed at her remark that she received a swarm of hate mail from Suriya fans abusing her in the choicest language possible. It is not an exaggeration to say that had Kareena been anywhere in the vicinity of Tamil Nadu at the time of making that statement, she would have been in grave bodily danger.

Suriya is a huge star down South and is also a humble, down to earth person. It was his super hit ‘Ghajini’ which was again remade by Aamir Khan in Hindi. Every lover of cinema knows this.

Realizing the enormity of her mistake and the repercussions it could have on her image and career, Kareena hastily issued an apology. If she really didn’t know who Suriya was, she could have at least asked her husband, Saif Ali Khan?
