Over an unnecessary scam, composer-orator James Vasanthan was put behind the bars for no apparent reason. Having served a three-day term in jail recently, James is inconsolable of the undue black mark on him. In an effort to cheer him up, actor-writer Parthiban rang up James to inquire how he is getting along. James narrated the whole incident in all innocence, as to how it all happened.
“It was pleasant visit by the commissioner. I was given to believe that he visited me casually and I took him around the house and also showed him my studio. I even played a tune for him at the studio and he seemed to enjoy it thoroughly. After the rendezvous, my wife offered him tea, after drinking which, he broke the news that he was here to arrest me. I was shocked” narrated James in disappointment. Parthiban instantly questioned “Then why was your wife not arrested?”
Confused, James begged his pardon, as Parthiban offered to explain; “If, after drinking the tea your wife prepared, he didn’t like it, then he should have arrested your wife and not you” quipped Parthiban. His spontaneous sense of humour had cracked James into laughter, lightening the mood. Many thanks to Parthiban to have lifted James’ spirits!
