A bold attempt

Nadigayin Diary, the Tamil version of the Malayalam movie Climax, is the biopic of yesteryear sex siren Silk Smitha but the film is not inspired by Vidya Balan’s Hindi biopic The Dirty Picture.

Director Anil says that it is as an emotional story based on the controversial life of Smitha and not dirty.

‘People have already started to compare the film with several imaginary stories, including the Hindi film The Dirty Picture, but it’s not like that. It’s a true, emotional story of the rise and fall of an actress. The story is closer to the personal life of Silk Smitha,’ Anil said.

Anthony Eastman, who introduced ‘Silk’ to the Malayalam film industry, has written the script.

Bollywood actress Sana Khan has essayed the role of ‘Silk’ Smitha in the film, which also features Baburaj, Suresh Krishna, Nishan and Rajasri Nair.
