Actress Anjali is making news almost every day. She was pretty much in the news last week for her statement claiming that she only shared a ‘professional’ relationship with actor Jai during the filming of their hit film Engeyum Eppodhum which is one of the hit films of 2011. In order not to court controversy any more, Anjali declared that she had decided not to pair up opposite in any film in future.
Her statement was met with a curt response from Jai who said he never ‘intended’ to marry an actress in his life. The war of words is not over yet. Anjali, meanwhile, has been signed up to play one of the four heroines in actor Vikram’s upcoming film titled Karikalan, a period flick. The talented actress appears to be acting as per her last week’s statement wherein she said that her priority was to earn a good name as an actress.
Her recent release was the Karan-starrer Thambi Vettothi Sundaram which didn’t scorch the box-office by any stretch of imagination but as always, her work didn’t go unnoticed. In fact, she looked trimmer in the film. She didn’t have any qualms in signing along the dotted lines to play the role in Karikalan, knowing very well that she wasn’t the solo heroine in the film.
While Vikram plays the character of Karikal Chola, the legendary Chola King, Anjali would be playing the role of a revolutionary in the film. The chirpy Anjali says that her long cherished dream of doing ‘at least’ one film opposite Vikram was finally getting realized. She also informs happily that her part of the shooting schedule would commence from the 10th of December in Hyderabad.
Besides Anjali, the film has a trio of beauties in Bollywood’s Zarine Khan, Radhika Apte and Mithra Kurien (of Kavalan fame) playing lead roles. The film is directed by Kannan and has music by G.V Prakash Kumar.
