Glamour doll Hansika Motwani has openly admitted that she feels shy and awkward while watching her own films. Hansika Motwani debuted this year in Kollywood with Mappillai opposite Dhanush and followed it up with the romantic flick Engeyum Kaadhal opposite ‘Jayam’ Ravi and directed by Prabhu deva. Both the films, unfortunately, didn’t set the box-office on fire.
The pretty actress, though, has a handful of films including Velayudham opposite Vijay which releases in Dewali eve. She also has Oru Kal Oru Kannadi opposite producer-turned-hero Udhayanidhi Stalin. Though billed as an unlucky actress, her call-sheet diary remains full as she struggles her way back to get her first super-duper hit film.
In a recent interview, she has opened up on many matters. “My family never wanted me to become an actress. My mom was a doctor and I’d often go to her clinic. Patients from the film industry who used to visit my mom would tell her to let me enter the world of movies; mom would always refuse to do so.
“Still, due to actress Aruna Irani (of Bollywood), I debuted as a child artiste and then as a heroine. I’m grateful to Dhanush who taught me lot of words in Tamil during the making of Mappillai and also to Ravi who was very friendly during the making of Engeyum Kaadhal. I’m hopeful my Velayudham opposite Vijay, which releases on Dewali, would hit the bull’s eye at the box-office.
“Though I have starred in many films, I kind of get embarrassed whenever I watch my own films; I don’t know why I feel so but it’s always like that. I want to improve with each film of mine and hope to be known as a good actress instead of being known as a glamourous actress,” concludes Hansika Motwani.
