Kids play; kids get dirty; there is a good deed somewhere in every act they do. Dirt and goodness go hand in hand in growing up. We believe that each kid has a story to tell; and this is an opportunity for your little ones to tell us their story and they could become a film maker. Vijay TV proudly presents Surf Excel – Little Big Film Makers. The show is a platform to encourage kids, their story telling abilities and giving them an opportunity to direct their own film.

As part of the activity, a road show is being conducted at over 100 schools across Chennai, Coimbatore and Trichy. Through which kids aged between 10 to 14 years (i.e. 4th std – 9th std) can participate by writing a story (in not more than 1000 words) that highlights “Dirt is good”. A story in which they got dirty to help someone or learnt something new. And if the story is exciting and interesting and if the judges love it; then this story would be made into a film with the kid as part of the film.

The chosen kids would be put under the guidance of well established ad film makers who would help them in the production of their films. The chosen kids and the entire production of these short films including pre/post, scripting, shooting etc., would be a part of a reality show that would be aired on Vijay TV titled Surf Excel Little Big Film Makers. Leading director AR Murugadoss would be the face of this campaign and would be a part of the judging panel on this show. The best stories would be chosen and made into a film which would be featured as part of the show Little Big Film Makers.

Apart from the school contact programme, an open entry competition has also been organized on December 5, 2010 in Chennai at St.Ebbas Girls School, RK Salai from 10 am onwards through which individual contestants can also participate in this competition.

Every stain has a beautiful story behind it. And each of you will have a lot of such beautiful stain stories to share. So come tell us your story..!

i am in my sixty. i used to share my childhood pranks with my son and wife. some make them silently weep. some make them laugh sky high. i wish i could share my memories which has been spiced over the years. still i could not stop laughing to one of my pranks when i was just seven years old. Next to our house there was a permanent cinema talkies. when ever there is a new movie release they used to pre edit the film and the waste will go straight to my Pandora box. then i keep ready with a torch light and a lens. when every thing was ready i started with MGR stills in naadodi. there was claps and whistle. the kids assembled made a howling sound. it was about 10in the morning. my mother would be back to home by 12. The screen was my mothers favorite deepaavali Saree. suddenly it all happened. one naughty just uncapped his pen and out of sheer thrill sprayed ink on the screen. I dispersed the crowd quickly. for some with the refund of ticket money of five paise. For others the ticket endorsed to next day show at the same time. I took the saree and tried my level best to clean the ink strain. Since it was a new saree my mother could easily identify some fishy things happened if she come to know that new smell will be gone and replaced by hard detergent soap. With all the things hunting my helpless mind, i simply narrated the whole thing in a paper and inserted in the saree duly folded as before but with the same ink strain concealed. After a week, she could see the note i hid in the saree fold. Every day without her knowledge i used to see the saree to know whether she read the note. i still remember it was sunday. My mother took off. When she was in the kitchen I sneaked to see her saree. All i found was a big choclate with a another note ‘TO MY DIRECTOR PREMKUMAR”
