Actress Sonakshi Sinha is making foray into South with Mahesh Babu starrer Shivam which will be directed by Krish of Gamyam and KVJ fame. The amount offered for the plumb beauty to sign the film is beyond anyone’s imagination as such figure wasn’t heard before!
Reportedly, the makers of Shivam have offered a whopping Rs 5 crores for Sonakshi Sinha who is riding high with back-to-back blockbusters like Rowdy Rathore and Dabangg 2. Previous highest offered for an actress to star in a South Film is somewhere around Rs 1.5 crore.
Cine observers say, Sonakshi Sinha is a big name in Bollywood due to her phenomenal success rate but she is yet to become a brand down South. All the top star films in Tollywood have been costing Rs 40 crore each by the time they reach the Censors. If the actresses charge a pay package on par with the heroes, then the rising production costs could change the fate of the film.
Can Sonakshi Sinha do justice to the amount she has been charging is big question to answer! Wish everything falls in place to make profits from this mega project!!!
