The buzzing Kollywood has come to a grinding halt with the entire film industry joining hands to fight against the imposition of 12.36% service tax by the Central Government. The day-long fast is being observed at the Valluvar Kottam in Chennai today.
The Nadigar Sangam President Sarathkumar, Superstar Rajnikanth, Vijay, Surya, Karthi, Vivek, Mano Bala, Prakash Raj, Parthiban, Vimal, SA Chandrasekar, Prabhu, Suhasini, Sneha, Prasanna, Arun Vijay, Radhika Sarathkumar, Vishal and others participated in this fast.
Owing to this fast, all shootings and theatre screenings have been cancelled for today.
A similar fast is being conducted in Andhra Pradesh and Kerala as well to protest against the service tax.
