Tamil superstar Rajnikanth turned 62 on 12.12.12 and asked fans for a special birthday gift at a function organized in his honour in Chennai. Give up smoking and drinking, said Rajini Sir.
Speaking to his fans on the special day, Rajnikanth said, “As someone who has enjoyed and experienced it all, I would say give up smoking and drinking.”
Addressing the gathering, Rajnikanth said that his illness had been caused by smoking. He also said that he recovered from his kidney ailment, involving extensive medical treatment, only by God’s grace and the prayers of his fans.
Rajnikanth set an example for his fans by recently quitting cigarettes and alcohol himself. In fact, his 2011 illness which saw him spend over a month in hospital was partly attributed to withdrawal symptoms.

Superstar Rajnikanth yesterday addressed a large gathering of fans following his very special 63rd birthday. During his typically entertaining speech he recalled how the fans enjoyed his villainous performances in Chandramukhi as Vettaiyan, MGR in Sivaji and Chitti 2.0 in Endhiran. Taking cue from that response he said that his project with KS. Ravikumar, Rana, would be a role of the ultimate villain.
Giving some information about the story he said it is a period film that is about the protagonist Rana avenging his sister’s death by bringing down an entire kingdom. He said the character would be as strong as Dhuryodhanan and Ravanan combined and will possess the wit and intellect of Sakhuni. He also said that the story will have a political angle that will be relevant to the present times.

Superstar Rajnikanth, celebrated his 62nd birthday yesterday and he received wishes from all quarters and corners of the world. His achivements in the cine field has been phenomenal and his life is a true rags to riches story that would inspire people to work hard and live life positively.
Citing this the latest is that a chapter on the Superstar titled ‘From Bus Conductor to Superstar’, has been included in the Learning to Communicate (Coursebook 6), for CBSE students! This chapter comes under the unit, ‘Dignity of Work’, and is from the perspective of Bahadur, Rajni’s close friend, and the driver of the bus, Rajni was a conductor in!
This chapter is aimed at inspiring children across the country! The star’s fans have another reason to celebrate! While the children are already a great fan of Rajinikanth and now they would be learning about him in schools as well.
It would be interesting to see if the teachers teach the students or the students would know more about the Superstar.
