Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru begins

From today, the mega hit annual Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru kicks off. The sought-after festival among Carnatic musicians and the music-lovers, the festival has lined up a series of fantabulous performances.

Today on the first day of the annual music fest, Pandchatratna Krithis will be rendered. The week-long festival will feature for the first time a LED visual surround with state-of-the-art light and sound arrangements.

Carnatic musicians Kadri Gopinath, Carnatica Brothers, Dr Shobana Vignesh, Shoba Chandrasekar, Aruna Sairam, P Unnikrishnan, Prasanna are performing at this year’s festival.

Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru begins with a bang

The annual music festival Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru kicked off in a gala manner in Chennai on Tuesday. The likes of industrialist and fine arts patron Nalli Kuppusami Chetti, IOB chairman Narendra and veteran vocalist Balamurali Krishna inaugurated the fest.

On the inaugural day, P S Narayanasamy rendered pancharatnakrithis followed by a concert of Balamuralikrishna.

Today a series of concerts including vocal by Madhu Iyer,1pm, Charulatha Mani, 2.45 pm, Ranjani – Gayathri, 4.45 pm and Saxophone by Kadri Gopinath,7.30 pm would be conducted.
