The inauguration event of 10th edition of the Chennai International Film Festivalheld on Dec 13, 2012 at Woodlands Theatre, Chennai.
Actress Varalakshmi Sarathkumar lit the lamp (Kuthu Vilakku) on the opening ceremony. Sarathkumar, Suhasini Maniratnam, Sivakumar, Ameer, SP Jananathan and others graced on the occasion.
The 8-day (Dec 13-Dec 20) festival will showcase 12 Tamil films, at Rani Seethai Hall, which will compete in a Tamil film competition.
The 12 selected films are: Aravaan, Arrohanam, Attakathi, Marina, Mounaguru, Mupozhuthum Un Karpanayil, Naan Ee, Neer Paravai, Pizza, Sattai, Sundara Pandian and Vazhakku Enn 18/9.
Apart from this, the critically acclaimed film, ‘Aaranya Kandam’, and classics ‘Karnan’ and ‘Chandralekha’ will also be screened during the course of the festival.
