Music director Harris Jayaraj has said that the final copy of the Vijay starrer Thuppaki is ready.
According to him, all the work has been completed and the release date is now left to be decided by Gemini Films. It may be mentioned here that the advance books for Thuppaki, from November 9th, has already begun in some theatres in the city.
Thuppaki is directed by AR Murugadoss and stars Vijay in the lead role. Pairing up with him for the first time is Kajal Agarwal.
Music for this venture has been composed by Harris Jayaraj.
Thuppaki sold out for Highest Price ever!
Vijay starrer Thuppaki is getting bigger and bigger despite the uncertainty in its release date. The latest news from the industry is that the Chennai rights of this film have been bought by Media One for a record price.
The amount shelled out by Media One is humongous and according to industry sources this is the highest price ever paid for a Vijay film thus far.
Thuppaki is directed by AR Murugadoss and stars Vijay and Kajal Agarwal as the lead pair. Harris Jayaraj has scored the music for this film, which has been produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu.
Thuppaki ticket bookings discontinued
Sources in the tinsel town are rife with news that the release of the Vijay starrer Thuppaki has been postponed. The film was slated to be released on November 9th and the advance bookings commenced at the Abhirami Theatres.
But now we hear that some distributors are not keen on a November 9th release for various reasons. While the Andhra Pradesh distributors do not want this film to clash with Nagarjuna’s Damarukam on November 9th, the Kerala distributor wants to have a grand release in that state.
On the other hand, overseas distributors prefer a weekend release and hence are keen on November 9th, say sources. In the meantime, Abhirami Theatres have discontinued the advance booking for Thuppaki.
Let’s wait for a clear picture to emerge on this film’s release date.
