After a sabbatical, danseuse Divya Unni is set to hog the limelight once again. The actor will make her presence felt in Pramod Pappan’s Musafir.
Actors Rahman, Mamta Mohandas and Bala are the other cast who play prominent roles in Musafir. A major part of the movie was shot abroad and a small part would be shot in Kochi.
Produced by Sunir Hamsa, the script has been penned by Babu Janardhanan.
The actress was quiet unseen post marriage and she will be seen through this film. Her sister, actress Vidhya confirms, “Divya’s just left back for the US where she’s settled down with her husband and children. She plays herself in Musafir, which has Rahman and Mamta in lead roles.
What attracted her to the role was that she got to play a classical dancer, and that too as herself. Although she is used to performing Bharatanatyam on stage, she wasn’t quite sure how her filmy Bharatanatyam would turn out.” Interestingly, Divya has acted in a couple of Tamil movies as well, including Vedham and Palayathu Amman.
