Thaandavam is an upcoming Tamil action film directed by AL Vijay, starring Vikram, Jagapati Babu, Anushka, Amy Jackson and Lakshmi Rai.
It is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and features music composed by GV Prakash Kumar. The film will be dubbed in Telugu as Shiva Thaandavam and will release simultaneously alongside the Tamil film.
Thaandavam – Vikram & AL Vijay’s Sivathaandavam
Post the stupendous success of Deiva Thirumagal, UTV Motion Pictures, AL Vijay, Vikram, Anushka and GV Prakash Kumar are coming together with yet another promising film, ‘Thaandavam‘.
However, this is visibly different in every way from their earlier offering.
The film also stars Jagapathi Babu (a top Telugu hero) with negative shades, Amy Jackson and Lakshmi Rai in pivotal roles. It is further rumored that Anushka plays Vikram‘s wife and appears in flashback scenes and Amy Jackson plays a Tamil girl born in Britain.
Vikram plays a blind person but we can’t be sure if he will be seen as a blind throughout the film or parts of the character. He is gifted with human echolocation in the film, a rare phenomenon in human beings where blind people can identify objects with their echo! Acting as a blind person is not new for Vikram who was seen as a blind in Kaasi however the characters are a total contrast to one another.
Thaandavam also promises a good dosage of high voltage action scenes, romance and even comedy since Santhanam is on board? It’s further said that Vikram plays a RAW official in this film.
Music is by GV Prakash Kumar and the album consists of eight tracks including two themes and an English song crooned by Alyssa and Nithya Maria. ‘Thaandavam‘ has been shot in Chennai and various locales of the UK.
AL Vijay and Vikram satisfied audience with Deiva Thirumagal with critics stating the film made even the toughest of men shed a tear or two and going by the making, the trailer and the promos, audience can be assured of a Sivathaandavam by the duo this time around.
