Looks like actor Ranveer Singh isn’t too happy about Kareena Kapoor disassociating from Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s ‘Ram Leela‘, as the actor is really disappointed at having lost the chance of working with the diva.
Also, thought he seems to have found a friend in Deepika Padukone, who has replaced Kareena Kapoor in this Gujarati take on Romeo Juliet, he’s not having qualms about admitted how sad he is at not being able to work with Bebo.
The actor was recently quoted by a leading daily, as saying, “I was disappointed since I was really looking forward to working with her. When I would discuss our chemistry, Mr Bhansali would say that he cast us because we are high-energy, open-hearted performers. Sadly, it didn’t work out.”
Wonder, if Ranveer Singh isn’t too kicked about working with Deepika, at least his statement indicates that!
Kareena Kapoor for Heroine!
Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine is gearing up for release and the entire team is working towards promoting this film. The latest buzz is that Kareena Kapoor, the leading lady in Heroine, will be in Delhi on September 17th and 18th to promote the flick.
There were rumors that Heroine is based on the real life of a film actress but the film’s director has clarified it is about the life of the heroines in general and not any one in particular.
It may be mentioned here that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the first choice to essay the role but eventually Kareena stepped in after Ash left the project due to her pregnancy.
Kareena Kapoor is a ‘big fan of Priyanka and her voice’
Once reported to be sharing cold vibes with co-star Priyanka Chopra, actress Kareena Kapoor says she is a big fan of her colleague and likes her body of work and voice.
“I am a big fan of Priyanka and her voice. I could relate more to Priyanka because she is a damdaar (power-packed) actress, and I like her work,” Kareena told reporters here last night at an event.
Notably, Priyanka is all set to launch her debut music album In My City soon. Earlier, problems had cropped up between the two actresses, when during Koffee With Karan show Kareena made fun of Priyanka’s accent. Priyanka had then retaliated saying that she got her accent from where her (Kareena’s) boyfriend Saif Ali Khan got his.
Kareena Kapoor is also appreciative of Deepika Padukone‘s pairing with her beau Saif. Both have worked together in films like Love Aaj Kal, Aarakshan and Cocktail. “They make a fantastic pair. In Cocktail, Saif and Deepika Padukone were the heart of the film and so was the case in Love Aaj Kal. I like to see both of them on screen. In fact I also like Priyanka and Saif as a pair on screen. It is badhiya jodi (good pair),” she expressed.
Meanwhile, director Madhur Bhandarkar‘s magnum opus starring Kareena Kapoor in the lead, Heroine, releasing on September 21, revolves around the journey of an actress, the glamour and glitz surrounding her career and the dark side of stardom.
On her take on the much awaited movie, Kareena Kapoor said, “Every kind of cinema is director’s world and it is his medium that we have to understand. Madhur’s world is not exactly candy floss, it is not just about being glamorous. Madhur likes to show the underbelly of life, whether it is Traffic Signal or Fashion.”
“The fact is that he has not shied away from showing the underbelly of where he is from, the film fraternity. The film marks the journey of a girl, it is the story of a declining superstar,” Kareena revealed. The actress also revealed quite a few differences between real and reel life heroine. “In real life I am very simple and honest, I like to spend time with family, I eat home cooked food. On screen we have to look glamorous, go for events and award functions. It is a difficult job but this the only thing that I know,” she said.
Kareena Kapoor is also charged up about her other big film Talaash alongside Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherjee. Directed by Reema Kagti, the movie releases on November 30. “I cannot reveal much about the plot of the film and my role. The experience of working with Aamir, Rani, Reema and everyone was great. After 3 Idiots, I was very excited about working with Aamir. Also I would be working with Rani after a long time. I am very excited that all three of us are coming together,” she said.
Kareena had worked with Aamir in 3 Idiots, which was a blockbuster, and had earlier teamed up with Rani for Mujhse Dosti Karoge, which also starred Hrithik Roshan. The actress is also kicked up about doing political drama Satyagrah with Prakash Jha, where she will be seen playing a journalist. “I am very excited to work with him (Prakash Jha).It is a lovely role but I cannot talk about it, we start shooting for the film in January,” Kareena mentioned.
Post marriage, Kareena Kapoor to add Khan to her name
Though Kareena Kapoor is tight-lipped about her wedding date, but she claims that she will add Khan to her name after tying the knot with Saif Ali Khan.
As the latest media reports claim, Kareena Kapoor says that she is lucky to have Bollywood’s two most powerful surnames attached to her name. Kareena is excited about the fact that her signature will now have triple K.
Career takes a backseat for most of the Bollywood actresses after marriage. However, Kareena has different plans in mind and wants to do equal number of films post marriage too.
Saif Ali Khan’s mother, Sharmila Tagore converted to Islam when she got married to cricketer Mansur Ali Pataudi. She changed her name to Ayesha Begum. When Kareena was asked whether she will also convert to Islam post marriage, she said, “That’s a very wrong question, which I will not be answering.”
As being reported, the wedding is in October and Saif’s mother has already started sending the invites. The ceremony will take place in two parts, in Delhi and Mumbai.
