Latest we hear is UTV, the makers, is keen on remaking Barfi! in Tamil featuring a young star.
Looks like, the race for the role might narrow down to Simbu and Jeeva. If reports are to be true, Simbu is said to be favorite contender for the role.Even a poll conducted by an online portal, revealed the trends.
Simbu is said to be impressed by the film and it remains to be seen if the actor is equally be interested in star in the remake. Let’s wait and see.
Simbu to do Barfi remake?
There were reports in a section of media that the recently-released Bollywood hit Barfi will be remade in Tamil. Barfi, directed by Anurag Basu, starring Ranbir Kapor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana is
making waves. The movie that opened to box office success is selected as India’s official entry to Oscar.
The movie tells the story of Barfi, a mute and deaf boy in Darjeeling, West Bengal and his relation with two girls, one of whom is autistic. The film has music by Pritam and cinematography by Ravi Varman.
There were speculations that STR would do the lead in tamil remake. When queried, Simbhu says, ‘ ‘ I loved the movie. Saw it twice. Amazing script but it is too early to say whether I would be doing the
film’.
