After Mani Ratnam and Shankar, the filmy buffs were wondering as to who would be the next ‘showman’ to capture the imagination of the movie-going public in a big way. It now turns out that SS Rajamouli, fresh from the success of his Tamil-Telugu bilingual Naan Eee (Eegaa in Telugu), is now touted as the ‘showman’ of South Indian films.

Referred to as SSR, SS Rajamouli is being appreciated as the ‘show man of Tamil and Telugu films’ by the print and television media in Kollywood and Tollywood. SS Rajamouli has certainly come a long way since his Magadheera days; even Magadheera is still considered as among all-time super-duper hits in all languages.
Starting with Student No.1 which starred Junior NTR in the lead a few years back, SSR has directed as many as nine films till Naan Ee. Interestingly enough, all the films he has made so far had different backdrops and scripts and one never felt that SSR was repeating the same thing in films. The only continuous thing which is witnessed in his films is the box-office success.
SSR’s family has been a great source of strength all these years in helping him accomplish all his goals, it is said. In order to make a foray in Kollywood with a direct Tamil film, SSR made Naan Eee and Eegaa simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu respectively. Despite the success, SSR has his head planted firmly on his shoulders.
He recently expressed his ‘dream’ to direct Rajnikanth in a film; let’s see whether his dream gets fulfilled in the near future!
