Rajnikanth – Black & white to color to 3D to animation

With Rajnikanth‘s Sivaji:The BOSS gearing up to release in 3D and him working on Kochadaiyan that’s a period animated entertainer that will also release in 3D, its now said that the Superstar of Tamil cinema, Rajnikanth, will be the first Indian to act in four formats of films, black and white, color, 3D and animation!

It may be mentioned, his Kochadaiyaan was also supposed to be the first Indian film to use performance capture technology, a technology used in films like Avatar, but another Tamil film, ‘Maatraan‘, starring Surya and Kajal Agarwal broke this record by using motion capturing technology for the film’s action scenes. Kochadaiyan is the first 3D animation fantasy flick in India.

Speaking on it Rajnikanth had earlier quoted, “Its tough to imagine and act in motion capture technology for there’s a lot to imagine and mime. We have to visualise and better to get into the skin of the character without make up, costumes or locations!”

While Kochadaiyaan that’s slated to release on Rajnikanth‘s birthday or sometime later this year was touted to be his next release post his sickness, it came as a pleasant surprise, even to Rajnikanth, that AVM Productions are converting Sivaji – The BOSS into a 3D version and readying it for a release in September!
