A few months ago came the Telugu film Paanja, directed by Vishnuvardhan starring Pawan Kalyan in the lead role. The movie supposedly an action-entertainer managed an average show at the box-office. Now efforts are on to dub and release the movie in Tamil. It has been named as Jai.
Vishnuvardhan, who made films like Arindhum Ariyamalum, Pattiyal, Billa and Sarvam, made his debut in Tollywood with Paanja. He is currently busy directing the as-yet-to-be-titled film starring Ajith.
Jai has musical score by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The movie also stars Sarah-Jane Dias, Anjali Lavania, Jackie Shroff and Sesh Adivi, while cinematography is handled by PS Vinod.
A gangster film with mafia backdrop, Jai is produced by Muhammad Ashfaq for IA Internationals. Pawan Kalyan now joins the long list of contemporary Telugu heroes who wants to make it big Tamil cinema.
