Biriyani, which is being directed by Venkat Prabhu, was launched yesterday. The film stars Karthi in the lead with Richa Gangopadhyay playing his on-screen pair. Yuvan Shankar Raja will be teaming up with his cousin Venkat Prabhu, as usual, to score the music for Biriyani.
Interestingly, Biriyani will be the 100th film for which Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music and therefore the expectations are high.
Biriyani’s costume designer Vasuki Bhaskar said that the inaugural pooja was held at the office. Vasuki added that she will be the costume designer for the fifth consecutive time for a film directed by her cousin Venkat Prabhu.

After the stupendous success of Mankatha the million dollar question what would be the next film from the den of Venkat Prabhu and it was officiallyconfirmed that it would be Biriyani produced by Studio Green with Karthi in the lead.
Venkat Prabhu will have the same technical team in this film too. The lyrics would be by Vaali and Gangai Amaran. The first song would be done by Vaali and the other songs would be by both Vaali and Gangai Amaran. yuvan has already composed two songs in this film. Prasanna is playing a prominent role in the film while that of his wife Sneha is not yet confirmed.
