Ever since Ajith’s Billa-2 was announced late last year, the trend of making sequel films is being adapted with increasing regularity by Kollywood film-makers. Simbu joins the ‘sequel’ bandwagon now.
Casting and managing six heroines in a film is not an easy task. It almost looks an impossible preposition but with Simbu, one never knows as to what he has up his sleeve. The vastly talented and highly unpredictable actor has announced that his upcoming film Manmadhan-2 would be a sequel to his Manmadhan which released almost eight years ago.
Manmadhan had superb music by Yuvan Shankar Raja which was one of the high-points in the film and added to its box-office success. It had the now-married Jyothika pairing up opposite Simbu who played dual roles in the film and romanced many beauties such as Sindhu Tolani, Mandira Bedi, Yana Gupta, etc. Simbu ‘shadow-directed’ the film though Murugan was the official director of the film.
For the sequel, Simbu has reportedly planned to rope in Anushka, Tamanna, Ileana and Trisha to pair up opposite him. Simbu is presently busy with many of his films such as Poda Podi, Vettai Mannan and Vaalu.
The star is likely to wrap up all these pending assignments by the end of this year and start work on Manmadhan-2. Talks are also on with a couple of other heroines to star in the film, it is said.
