After several directors, including Mani Ratnam, dropped plans of adapting the epic novel Ponniyin Selvan on the big screen due to various reasons, Selvaraghavan has expressed his desire to make the film, if accorded an opportunity.
The director, who is currently busy directing Irandaam Ulagam, has revealed his dream cast for this period flick. In a micro-blogging site he has said the Jeeva would be suitable to play Vanthiyadevan, Vikram as Raja Raja Cholan, Aarya as Adithya Karikalan, Kajal Agarwal as Kundhavai, and Nayantara as Nandhini.
Selvaraghavan is not new to directing period films as he has tried it out with the well-researched Aayirathil Oruvan. Wish Selva’s attempt to make Ponniyin Selvan materialises!
