The latest teaser from Gautham Menon‘s ‘Neethane En Ponvasantham‘ has been unveiled to positive response from the young and music lovers. ‘Saindhu Saindhu…‘ has been crooned by Yuvan Shankar Raja to the tunes of his father, Ilayaraja.
The teaser albeit a very short one shows montages of the lead lost in love and manages to grip the attention of audience. The pairing of Jeeva and Samantha is very fresh on screen.
The audio of this feel good romantic entertainer that promises one to remind them of their college love releases this August.

Neethane En Ponvasantham is a forthcoming Tamil romance film written and directed by Gautham Menon, featuring Jiiva and Samantha in the lead roles. The venture is jointly produced by Menon’s Photon Kathaas and RS Infotainment and will have cinematography by M. S. Prabhu. The film’s score and soundtrack are being composed by Ilaiyaraaja. Singer Chinmayi will be providing the speaking voice for the female lead. The film, which is being simultaneously shot in Telugu as Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu and Hindi as Assi Nabbe Poorey Sau, and is scheduled to be released in November 2012.
Following successful collaborations with Harris Jayaraj and A. R. Rahman, Menon opted to work with Ilaiyaraaja for Neethane En Ponvasantham. The lyrics for all the eight songs were penned by Na. Muthukumar, replacing film director Gautham Menon’s usual associate lyricist Thamarai for the first time. The album became one of the most highly expected musicals of 2012 in Tamil cinema.
Ilaiyaaraja instantaneously composed the songs on harmonium with the singers in Chennai. In London, rest of the recording with the background score was completed in Angel Studios for which the Hungarian National Philharmonic, a prestigious symphony orchestra of Budapest, was roped in. A children’s choir was also used as backing vocals in a song. The 108-piece live symphony orchestral music was revealed to be the opening part of a song. Reports surfaced that the leading pair lent their voices for a song in the film but the lead actress denied the rumor. Karthik stated that he had sung two songs for the film and the respective Telugu version as well. A short audio trailer featuring the instrumental part of a song with visuals of the director, choir, artistes and the music director recording musical sessions in Angel Studios, London was released over the internet on 17th May 2012. To mark 69th birthday of the music composer, a short audio part of a song named Saindhu Saindhu Nee Paarkum Podhu sung by Yuvan Shankar Raja was released over Youtube on 2nd June 2012 that received over fifty thousand playbacks in just two days. The video teaser of the song will be released online on 22nd July 2012. Also, the entire audio album will be released in the month of August.
The production house sold the musical rights at an altitudinous price of 2 crore (US$362,000), setting a record price of audio rights acquirement which was bagged by Sony Music.
