Actor Karthi in Biriyani, a Venkat Prabhu diet. Need we say more? This is one of the most talked about ventures of late, thanks to the coming together of Karthi, a bankable star and Venkat Prabhu who is known for his blockbuster commercials.
The logo of the film is quite filmy as such and manages to grip the attention of people. It’s more like a road sign name board, leading people to ‘Venkat Prabhu’s diet‘. How do you like the logo?
The film that went on floors last weekend stars Karthi as the protagonist whilst Richa Gangopadhyay and Diana Penty of Cocktail fame are touted to play the female lead roles. Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Venkat Prabhu launches Biryani logo
We all know that Karthi is all set to team up with director Venkat Prabhu for Biryani , a romantic comedy entertainer in Tamil and Telugu. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green is the producer. The latest is that Venkat Prabhu has launched the logo of the film in Facebook. He has also posted pictures of the pooja launch of the film in the page, along with the title design.
The director has recently approached Cocktail hottie Diana Penty to play a prominent role. Interestingly Mayakkam Enna actress Richa Gangopadhyay plays the leading lady. If everything goes well, the project will hit the floors in August. The film has music by Yuvanshankar Raja and camera by Sakthi Saravanan.

Karthi’s Biriyani smells tangy awaiting a fresh new addition. The film directed by Venkat Prabhu has been grabbing headlines for a 14 crore remuneration being paid to Karthi, a sum many top actors in Kollywood command. It’s produced by his uncle and Studio Green owner Gnanavel Raja.
Director Venkat Prabhu has already confirmed Richa as heroine for the film. But there was a buzz that the director was contemplating getting the likes of Parineeti Chopra , Ileana or Samantha as second heroine for the suspense thriller. Though there was an official pooja for the film it will only start shooting after Aadhi Maasam. “Director Venkat Prabhu is polishing up the script at present and he is on the lookout for a second heroine. There are talks going on with Diana Penty who starred in Bollywood film Cocktail with Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan,” says a source close to the director. Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja meanwhile is working on the tunes. Karthi also has his Alex Pandian coming up with pretty Anushka. Shoots for Biriyani go on floors in the month of August.

No worries. It’s all sunshine for the actor as he gets busy with his projects. Venkat Prabhu’s “Biriyani” with Karthi has completed 25 days of shoot. Sources convey that actor Ramki has joined the team recently too. Two songs and almost 40% of the talkie portion has been done. The usual trademark of a Venkat Prabhu entertainer is that the film has a trendy song shot in a club. Super hit examples of that would be “Vilayaadu Managatha” from Ajith’s latest “Mangatha” and “Cheeky Cheeky” from “Saroja”. “Biriyani” might also have a song based inside a club, or so we hope!
A fight sequence for “Biriyani” is being shot in Binny Mills right now. Interestingly, the solo mass entertaining song for “Settai” directed by Kannan is also being shot at the same location. This means that the actor has a busy day lined up with two shoots one after the other.
