Filmmaker Samuthirakani would do Nimirndhu Nil starring Jayam Ravi and Amala Paul in the lead roles and the movie would go to floors on 5 July.
The movie also features Meghnaraj as another heroine. The film also features Parotta Suri, Subbu Panju, Gnanavel among others form part of the cast. Music is by GV Prakash kumar and cinematography is by Sugumar.
Sources say that the movie would be made simultaneously in Telugu too. The lead role in Telugu version would be done by Nani of Veppam and Naan Ee fame. Amala Paul and Meghnaraj have been retained for the Telugu version too.
Samuthirakani is acting in films like Sattai and Neer paravai now.
Nimirnthu Nil gets going…
Nimirnthu Nil went on floors today morning amidst much fanfare. Several film personalities including Venkat Prabhu, M Rajesh, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Dhanajayan, Madan Karky, KE Gnanavelraja, Jayam Raja, Prabhu Solomon, Lingusamy, SR Prabhu, Parotta Suri, K Balachander, and others attended this film launch event making it a grand success.
Venkat Prabhu, who kick-started the proceedings by calling ‘action’, said that it was at the same venue his blockbuster Mankatha had commenced.
Nimirnthu Nil’s lead star Jayam Ravi said that the first scene has already been shot today and the outcome is satisfactory. The film, it may be mentioned here, is directed by Samuthirakani with the theme: “Unnai nee sari seithukol ulagam thaanga sariyaagividum.”
