Billa 2 – Official figures out

Ajith starrer Billa 2 has got the biggest opening ever, according to sources in the trade. The producers of the film have finally come out with figures that critics and movie buffs have been waiting for eagerly.

The film has grossed approximately 7.61 crores on the day of its release in Tamil Nadu alone. On Saturday, it was 5.23 crores and on Sunday it was 17.76 crores.

Billa 2 is doing good business in all centres and producers are expected to disclose the exact sum within a few days’ time.

The film, it may be mentioned here stars Ajith in the lead role and has been directed by Chakri Toleti.

Billa 2 only in theaters

Billa 2 had a couple of raunchy numbers, the popular ‘Madura Ponnu‘ and a belly dance number late into the second half.

Now, these two songs will be available only in the theatrical release prints as they have been deemed unfit by the censor board for television showcase. So rush to the theaters soon to catch a glimpse of these two thumping dance numbers. Earlier we had also reported that the ‘Idhayam‘ number will be included from tomorrow onwards in all theaters.

It seems the grandeur of Billa 2 can be appreciated fully only in theatres.

Billa 2 – 6 Days Box-Office Collection Report!!!

Ajith‘s gangster movie Billa 2, which did a wonderful opening on the release day, has continued its dream run at Tamil Box Office.

Even though the movie failed to get a good word-of-mouth from audience, it has managed to pull the audience to theatres thereby bringing smiles on the face of the makers of the film.

On Monday (July 16), Billa 2 enjoyed a good percentage of occupancy in most of the theatres in Tamil Nadu. Especially, the movie ran for packed houses in single screens but the occupancy in multiplexes varied from morning show to evening show. On an average, the Ajith starrer movie got around 80-90 occupancy, says a trader. The movie has somewhere collected Rs. 5.75 cr to 6.30 on Monday.

Billa 2 earned around Rs. 19 crore nett in the first weekend in Tamil Nadu. The movie, which was released on July 13, ran into packed houses in most of the theatres in Tamil Nadu. On an average, the occupancy at cinema halls for the movie was 95% in single screens as well as multiplexes.

The movie directed by Chakri Toleti is a prequel to Billa. The movie starring Ajith Kumar, Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah is a gangster-thriller flick.
