Aishwarya Dhanush, wife of actor Dhanush and elder daughter of superstar Rajnikanth, debuted as a director in Kollywood with the much-spoken about and much-discussed 3 which stared Dhanush and Shruti Hassan in the lead. The film enjoyed some great pre-release publicity thanks to the immensely popular Why this Kolavari di… number penned and sung by Dhanush himself.
Though the song had become some sort of a ‘universal hit’, the film featuring the song didn’t live up to the expectations of the fans of Dhanush and Shruti Hassan. The film, however, received critical acclaim and was appreciated by the print and television media. Unfazed by the no-show of her first film, Aishwarya Dhanush is gearing up to make her second directorial venture.
She is apparently buoyed by the award she received for her effort in a film-related event held recently in U.S. She informs cheerfully that she has almost ‘readied’ another new script and is giving the ‘finishing touches’ to it. “I have, in fact, prepared two different scripts. One of them would be featuring major stars while the other is exclusively meant for children.
“As of now, I haven’t decided as to which one I’d be directing as my second film as director. I’m in talks with many child artistes and other stars. I also plan to produce the film on my own,” informs Aishwarya Dhanush.
