The Madras High Court on Friday told the producers of ‘3‘, a Dhanush starrer movie, there is no need to block an entire website, but taking action against the pirated URLs will be enough.
Earlier, many video sharing sites were blocked for hosting pirated content. On Friday, the High Court told the producers to provide specific pirated links of the film to internet service providers (ISPs), so that they could block it.
On March 29, the Madras High Court granted interim injunction until further orders, restraining internet service providers (ISPs) and other unknown persons from infringing on the producer’s copyright of ‘3‘ by communicating, duplicating or downloading the film in any manner without proper licence.
Justice KBK Vasuki passed the order on an application in a civil suit by RK Productions Private Ltd, the producer, and ordered notice.
