The opening day of the maiden South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) function held Friday saw Dhanush, Trisha, Amala Paul, Nani and Rana Daggubati walk away with the honours.
While Dhanush won the award titled ‘Sensation of South Indian Cinema’, Trisha walked away with ‘Youth Icon of South Indian Cinema’ prize which was also the prize won by Rana Daggubati (for male artistes).
Silambarasan was awarded the ‘Stylish Star of Southern Cinema’ prize for actors and Lakshmi Rai took home a similar award for actresses.
Nani and Amala Paul took the ‘Rising Star of South Indian Cinema’ awards.
