Here’s some good news for Karthi’s fans out there! The star will be teaming up with Venkat Prabhu very soon for a venture that has been titled Biryani. The director’s last release was Mankatha, which was a smash hit and earned its lead star Ajith the title – the Emperor of Box Office.
With Venkat Prabhu teaming up with one of the most successful and bankable star like Karthi, the expectations on Biryani have soared up already.
Venkat Prabhu’s cousin and popular music director Yuvan Shankar Raja has announced that he will be scoring the music for this venture.
More details about the ‘ingredients’ in this very special Biryani is expected to be out at the earliest.

It seems he has zeroed in on the title as Biryani, with the intriguing tagline – a Venkat Prabhu Diet.
Though Venkat Prabhu has agreed to work with Suriya in a film to be shot in the 3D format, it looks like his film with Karthi will be the one to commence soon.
While Gnanavel Raja is producing the movie, talks are on with a top heroine from Mumbai for the female lead, adds the sources.
Don’t get any wrong ideas; director Venkat Prabu isn’t going to take Karthi’s assistance in making biriyani, one of his most favourite food items. Venkat Prabhu, who is riding high with consecutive successes as director in recent years, has named his upcoming directorial venture starring actor Karthi in the lead as Biriyani.
Venkat Prabhu’s Mankatha which was Ajith’s landmark 50th film and which released last year gave the director as well as Ajith a super-duper hit. Few expected the film, which had betting in cricket as its central theme, to do as well in theatres as it ultimately did. The new film by Prabhu would have a tag ‘A Venkat Prabhu Diet’ along with the afore-said title Biriyani.
Premgi Amaren, who is an inevitable actor in each of his brother’s films, would again get to play a prominent role in Prabhu’s Biriyani. The heroine opposite Karthi is yet to be finalized as talks are still on with a leading Bollywood actress. With Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music, Sakthi Saravanan’s cinematography and Praveen’s editing, Venkat’s trusted team is back to work in this film as well.
Venkat plans to release the film in theatres on the eve of Independece Day on 15th August. Though Venkat is all set to direct Suriya in a 3-D film, he would first complete Biryani before staring work on Suriya’s film. Both the films would be produced by Gnanavel Raja, producer and uncle of Suriya and Karthi.
