PMK leader DR Anbumani Ramdas’s wife Sowmya Ramdas has condemned Vijay and his upcoming film Thuppaki.
Sowmya Ramdas, the head of the Pasumai Thayagam, an NGO, said that the posters depicting Vijay smoking is against the law and is a punishable offence.
She added that the Union and State governments, the Censor Board and the Courts have issued a directive to control smoking in public places and curb such advertisements. In such a situation, it is against the laws of the land to publicize a film with such posters, Sowmya Ramdas alleged.
She also requested the State Government on behalf of the Pasumai Thayagam Iyakkam to take action against the offenders including Vijay and director AR Murugadoss for releasing such posters.
Thuppaki is directed by AR Murugadoss and stars Vijay and Kajal Agarwal as the lead pair. Harris Jayaraj is scoring the music for this film.
