Director KV Anand’s Ko won the prestigious Sri Nagi Reddy Memorial Award for Best Feature Film, 2011 recently.
Speaking about the film’s success at the box office and being honored with prestigious awards, director KV Anand had thanked the film’s producers Elred Kumar and Jayaraman of RS Infotainment for the trust placed on him.
KV Anand revealed that when he narrated the story of Ko to a couple of heroes, they had rejected it on various grounds including that it was a stereotypical film that has been dealt with several times in the past. The director also pointed out that one hero wanted him to change the heroine; without revealing the names of the heroes.
But KV Anand is a happy man today as his judgment proved right. Ko has turned out to be a commercial success too apart from being honored with awards. The film starred Jeeva, Karthika Nair and Pia Bajpai in the lead roles with Ajmal in a negative role.
